The Meaning of Peace in Asia

Abstract

Peace in Asia, like elsewhere in the Third World, has always been regarded as the superpowers' burden. It is a self-imposed responsibility that defines the essence of their being in the world. Accordingly, all other nations must align their respective national visions to the larger perspective that is supposed to inform the superpower's behavior. In contrast to this is the concept of non-alignment, an attempt to establish an autonomous peace.
