Focus and Scope
The Philippine Social Sciences Review (PSSR) is a peer-reviewed journal and is an official publication of the University of the Philippines-Diliman College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP). The PSSR accepts scholarly contributions from members of the academic community.
The PSSR aims to promote the critical exchange of ideas and research findings in the social sciences and philosophy among the faculty, research staff, and students of the CSSP, the Diliman academic community, as well as communities of scholars in other parts of the country and the world.

Peer Review Process
(i.) An author who submits an article is asked to fill-up a Manuscript Submission (MS) Form;
(ii.) The Editorial Team gives a copy of the MS form and the article to the Editorial Board members who will decide whether the submitted article is publishable and should go through the review process. If not recommended for review, the MS is returned to the author with a letter from the Editorial Team explaining the reasons for the decision;
(iii.) Once the article is recommended for review, the Editorial Team in consultation with members of the Editorial Board identify possible reviewers of the article;
(iv.) Suitable articles are subjected to a double-blind review by three referees who are experts in the field;
(v.) Once the article is returned by the referee/s, the Editorial Team sends the article back to the author with the referees’ comments;
(vi.) The author then responds to the referees’ comments and/or revises the MS accordingly;
(vii.) The Editorial Team meets to decide whether the author has satisfactorily addressed the referee’s comments, and then makes a final decision whether to publish the article or not.The EB shall notify the author of its decision;
(viii.) If the MS is not accepted for publication, the EB shall notify the author whether further revisions may warrant re-submission of the MS in the future.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
