The Dynamic of the Opposition to the US Bases in the Philippines
Abstract
On December 31, 1991, the Aquino government issued a one-year notice of termination to the US naval facilities in Subic Bay in the Philippines. The notice sealed the fate of the remaining US base in the Southeast Asian region. It ended almost a century of direct US military presence in the Philippines.
