Maari Ako, Maaring Ikaw: Mga Guhit Galing Sa Bilangguan Ng Concepcion, Tarlac

Abstract

A series of drawings and paintings made during my detainment on June 9, 2022. We were a collective of farmers, artists, and peasant advocates who were unjustly arrested by orders of local mayor Noel Villanueva, the land grabber and opportunist who wanted to profit off of Hacienda Tinang at the expense of impoverished farmers. I painted to ground myself in this highly unstable situation, as I did not know when we’d be released.
