The Sanyata Journal: Journal of Creative Works of the Philippine Built Environment is a platform by the University of the Philippines College of Architecture to disseminate the creative works crafted in the realm of the built environment—architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, and urban and environmental design. This publication seeks original work and welcomes contributions related to a variety of issue areas. All submitted works should not have been previously published.
The Sanyata Journal is a peer-reviewed journal of creative works of the UP College of Architecture. The journal will publish commissioned and peer-reviewed articles about creative outputs and that address, analyze, or reflect on history, design, technology, urbanism, teaching, and spatial theories of the designed and built environment. The project featured in the journal is foregrounded as a product of knowledge generation and elucidation of contemporary architectural discourse.
The Sanyata Journal comes from “sanyata” an Ilokano word for beauty and light; a powerful experience, mysterious and beautiful—visceral and corporeal qualities we sought to create in architecture and designed environment.
Sanyata Journal considers for publication creative works of the Philippine built environment. Written works should be well-organized, clearly written, interesting, coherent, intelligently argued, and accurate regarding attributions.
