Abstract

ABSTRAK

Hinistorisa at binigyang depinisyon ng papel ang trope ng tagalabas sa iba’t ibang manipestasyon nito sa maikling kuwentong Filipino. Napalitaw na ang figurang ito ay bunsod ng negosasyon sa proseso ng kolonisasyon at ng mga historikal na pangyayaring kaakibat nito—ang pagdatal ng relihiyon, modernisasyon, at ang paggigiit ng pag-iral ng mga bagong sekswalidad at
identidad.

ABSTRACT
The paper historicizes and defines the trope of the outsider based on its different manifestations found in the short story in Filipino. The outsider figure is found to be shaped by the varied processes of colonization, specifically the imposition of religion, modernization and the concomitant resistance of new sexualities and identities.
