Mga Batayan ng Sikolohiyang Pilipino sa Kultura at Kasaysayan

Abstract

ABSTRAK

Unang tinalakay sa papel na ito ang pagkakaiba ng Sikolohiyang Pilipino sa Sikolohiya sa Pilipinas at Sikolohiya ng mga Pilipino.

Ang Sikolohiyang Pilipino ay ang sikolohiyang bunga ng karanasan, kaisipan at oryentasyong Pilipino; ang Sikolohiya sa Pilipinas ay bunga ng pagkakasunud-sunod ng mga pangyayaring may kinalaman sa sikolohiya sa ating bayan; at ang Sikolohiya ng mga Pilipino ay ang bawat teorya ng sinumang nais mag-aral tungkol sa kalikasang sikolohikal ng mga Pilipinong naninirahan sa Pilipinas at maging sa ibang bansa.

Bunga ng pagtitipon ng mga materyal na kaugnay sa sikolohiya, mga aklat, artikulo at ulat na may kinalaman sa kasaysayan ng sikolohiya sa Pilipinas, at resulta rin ng mga palatanungang ipinamahagi at panayam na isinagawa sa iba't ibang dako ng Pilipinas, inilahad sa pag-aaral ang anim na batayan ng Sikolohiyang Pilipino: 1) ang kinagisnang sikolohiya, tulad ng mga aral at ritwal ng mga babaylan at katalonan, mga dalangin, bulong, kuwentong-bayan, alamat at epiko; 2) ang tao at ang kanying diwa; 3) ang panahon ng pagbabagong-isip; 4) ang panahon ng pagpapahalaga sa kilos at kakayahan ng tao; 5) ang panahon ng pagpapahalaga sa suliranin ng lipunan / na tumatalakay sa pagpanaog ng mga sikolohistang Pilipino mula sa kanilang toreng gareng; at 6) ang wika, kultura at pananaw ng Pilipino na siyang pinakapundamental na saligan ng iba pang batayang nabanggit.

ABSTRACT

The paper first discusses the difference between Filipino Psychology, Psychology in the Philippines, and Psychology of the Filipinos.

Filipino Psychology is psychology that is a product of Filipino experiences, ideas, and orientation; Psychology in the Philippines is the sequence of events that have to do with the field of psychology in the country; Psychology of the Filipinos refers to the collection of theories contributed by anyone interested in the study of the psychological nature of Filipinos residing in the Philippines and in other countries.

Through the collection of materials relating to psychology such as books, articles and reports associated with the history of psychology in the Philippines, as well as the analysis of the outcomes of surveys and interviews made in the different regions in the country, the six foundations of Filipino Psychology are identified in the study: (1) indigenous psychology, which includes the lessons and rituals of the babaylan or katalonan, chants, prayers, hearsay, folk tales, legends, and epics; (2) the person and his or her consciousness; (3) the period of changing consciousness; (4) the period of increasing valuation for human behavior and abilities; (5) the period of increasing awareness of societal problems, which discusses the Filipino psychologists’ descent from their ivory towers; and (6) the language, culture and perspective of the Filipino, which constitute the fundamental foundations of all the other aforementioned bases.
